The English Elm U. procera cultivar 'Acutifolia' was first described (as U. campestris acutifolia) by Masters [2] in Hort. Duroverni 66. 1831, and later by Mottet [3] in Nicholson [4] & Mottet, Dict. Prat. Hort. 5: 383, 1898. Described as having the leaves of mature trees narrower and the branches more pendulous [1]. The tree has almost certainly been lost to cultivation.
