The Smooth-leaved Elm Ulmus minor subsp. minor 'Reverti' was registered in Germany in 1993 by Conrad Appel, Darmstadt for a University of Wisconsin-Madison selection (No. 380-1) grown from Hungarian seed and found to the most disease-resistant of the species in the Wisconsin programme. Not known to be commercially available (2006) on either side of the Atlantic, it has yet to be recognized as a valid cultivar [1].
