Origin
Europe

The Smooth-leaved Elm Ulmus minor subsp. minor cultivar 'Picturata' was listed in the Simon-Louis (Metz, France), catalogue of 1880, p. 66. Described as similar to 'Variegata' but with larger leaves [1]. Introduced to Australia, the tree was marketed in the early 20th century by the former Gembrook Nursery near Melbourne. It is not known whether the tree survives in Australia, but it is unlikely the tree remains in cultivation in Europe.
