The European White Elm Ulmus laevis cultivar 'Aureo-Variegata' was mentioned by Schelle in Beissner[3] et al. Handb. Laubh. Benenn. 84. 1903, as U. effusa (: laevis) f. aureo-variegata, but without description [1]. Henry briefly described it as "Leaves spotted with yellow", but the tree was never grown in the UK [2]. It is unlikely the tree remains in cultivation.
