U. davidiana var. davidiana L. K. Fu is distinguished by Fu et al. (2002) as having "Bark pale grey to grey. Samara densely pubescent on seed. Fl. and fr. March - May." Restricted to the Chinese provinces of Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi and Shanxi [1]

The tree is not known to be in cultivation beyond China.
