The American Elm Ulmus americana cultivar 'Littleford' is an older cultivar, narrowly vase-shaped with larger and heavier leaves. Originally cloned from a tree in Hinsdale circa 1915, it was first released in 1927. Marketed by the Sherman Nursery, Charles City, Iowa, as late as 1957, it is no longer listed by that emporium or any other. [1].
The tree is not known to have been introduced to Europe or Australasia.
