Ulmus × arbuscula
Hybrid parentage
U. pumila × U. glabra
Origin
Russia

The hybrid elm Ulmus × arbuscula E. Wolf was derived from a crossing of Ulmus pumila with Ulmus scabra (: glabra) in St. Petersburg, Russia [1]. A specimen at the Ryston Hall, Norfolk, arboretum, obtained from the Späth nursery in Berlin before 1914 [2], was killed by the earlier strain of Dutch elm disease prevalent in the 1930s. The tree is not known to have been introduced to North America or Australasia.
