Ulf Evenås

Ulf Evenås, shihan (7th dan in Iwama Ryu, 5th dan Iwama Ryu bukiwaza, 7th dan in Aikikai). Ulf Evenås began his aikido training in the late 1960s and was appointed by Morihiro Saito as shihan (top official representative) for Iwama Ryu.

He visited Saito-sensei for the first time in 1973. He holds the highest rank in Iwama-ryu aiki-jo and aiki-ken. He and Paolo Corallini hold the highest ranks given in Iwama Ryu aikido.

After the death of his teacher Morihiro Saito, Ulf Evenås went back to the Aikikai, which he had never actually left. He teaches in Göteborgs Aikidoklubb, located in the city of Gothenburg, and is today a member of the Swedish Aikikai grading committée.
