[edit] Summary

The summary is a bit wordy with very long sentences. Can this be simplified? Also, be careful to avoid original research. Midnightdreary 20:43, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mount Yaanek

Mount Yaanek, with its "sulphurous currents" in the "ultimate climes of the pole," is actually Mount Erebus, a then newly discovered volcano in Antarctica.

I haven't read Meyers' book (quoted as a source), but this sentence sounds really bad, as at most it's inspired by it or Poe is using it as a poetical reference. Boreal, in any case, means "of the north", and Mt. Erebus is in the opposite hemisphere (Antarctica). Who is like God? (talk) 21:59, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
