The Ukrainian presidential election, 1991 was the first presidential election held in Ukraine. It took place on December 1, 1991.
On the same day, Ukrainians overwhelmingly supported the Declaration of Independence in the national referendum. All six presidential candidates were campaigning in support of Ukrainian independence.
