The Ukrainian Space Research Institute (Ukrainian: Інститут космічних досліджень Національної академії наук України та Національного космічного агентства України, Space Research Institute of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and the Ukrainian National Space Agency, Ukrainian abbreviation: ІКД НАНУ-НКАУ, IKD NANU-NKAU or IKD NASU-NSAU) is the research institute of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and the Ukrainian National Space Agency on space research and exploration.
The Institute conducts and coordinate scientific and technical activities in the fields of research and space exploration in the peace purposes. It was founded May 31, 1996 by common decision of NANU and NKAU. The Institute located in Kyiv and has staff of 130 scientists. The Director of the IKD from its foundation is Academician Vsevolod Kuntsevich.
