[edit] Clarification

Regarding your edit/comment about Classmates.com page, for clarification the format that I typed into when making the page asked for "author" so I input my name. In hindsight I see that while it asks for "author" it lists "author" as "creator", which has the same meaning but you interpreted as creator of the website Classmates.com. So I understand the miscommunication.... just thought you might want to know the story behind it... and to say congratulations for knowing that Randy Conrads founded Classmates.com. Since others may also interpret "creator" as "founder" I appreciate your contribution to the page.

Best regards, JohnUpp 21:49, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trading spaces

alt text

Hello, UkPaolo, thank you for signing up to participate in Esperanza's trading spaces program. As you requsted to have your user page renovated by another user, Mirlen will be renovating your userpage. Please contact Mirlen on their talk page about the renovating. The renovating will be listed at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Programs#Undergoing_Renovation, please feel free to update the status as it changes. Enjoy!

Well, speaking on that idea. Is there any special preferences you have (e.g. color, style, etc.)? —Mirlen 21:25, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Alright, see what I can come up with. I'm currently juggling two desiging projects, so I may be slow, just to warn you — although, I'll probably get yours done faster, since there really isn't anything much on your userpage. *grins* Looking at how MoP is renovating somebody else's page on their sandbox, I'll be putting your userpage designs on your sandbox, so you can see it. (Nice milestone box, btw). —Mirlen 16:33, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Haha, well, MoP helped me with the archive header (I just switched the welcome header with the archive discussion header), but Sango also has it, so I suspect that he'd gotten the idea from Sango as well! I can't design half as well as she does, but I'll try my best! I've started off with two versions of the archive header on your sandbox, so pick which one you like and read my little note! —Mirlen 17:07, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Well, what do you think of your talk page? If you want the old headers back for 'Notes', feel free to revert. :)Mirlen 22:20, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] copyright violations

considering you have nothing to do with websites. ill tell you this. go to http://www.freewebs.com/dincov1/disclaimer.htm and you can see i have made a note of this. on other sites i have put a link on each to wikipedia on the home pages ok? the southerner 18:08, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

hum. ok i will add the links by this sunday. so dont ban me yet. also by the way the coca-cola page dont exist anymore. the southerner 18:08, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Old Skool Esperanzial note

Since this isn't the result of an AC meeting, I have decided to go Old Skool. This note is to remind you that the elections are taking place now and will end at 23:50 UTC on 2006-04-29. Please vote here. Thanks. --Celestianpower háblame 20:42, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Warp

Hi. I'm trying to move the disambig page for warp to Warp (disambiguation) so that the primary article for warp can be moved into location, and you keep stepping in and moving it the other way. I'm not an admin, so can you move the disambig page to the disambig location, and then move Warp (weaving) into Warp, please. I'll then go round and undo the incorrect redirects that were done earlier today by bot. Thanks. Noisy | Talk 15:25, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] IranPix.com pictures

Thanks for deleting those pictures. I would have deleted them myself, but since I had a conflict of interest with the user, I just put them on speedy-row and let another admin delete them. I see you put a couple of pictures on that copyright watch page (don't feel like looking for the exact page). The user also has many more pictures from IranPix.com uploaded. Some of them have "exclusive use by him" liscenses, though every picture from IranPix.com is non-commercial and are still I3. Mind taking a look through his contribution list sorted by Images. Most of the iranpix have iranpix in the summary. Pepsidrinka 17:00, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks. I think I made it through the list and added the no source tags and the no copyright tags, so that shouldn't be an issue any longer. Thanks for the assistance. Pepsidrinka 17:19, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] TigerGardens

Hi, I was just wanted to know why you removed the TigerGardens and request that you restore it and submit it to Articles for deletion instead if you feel it to be necessary, particularly as it serves a purpose to inform anyone interested about a site that receives over 3000 hits a month and is not just a 'vanity page' as you classified it. Sorry if I sound rude but it happens to be my first article and it took quite a long time to create, so it annoyed me when I tried to see the result of my work and it wasn't there because you decided to delete it. Thanks --Tramster 19:59, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] University of Portsmouth Logo

Hi, thanks for your message on my user talk about my userpage. I'm not sure what to replace it with, because whilst the image has been uploaded to wikipedia as fair use, I am aware of the University of Portsmouth having released its logo for usage on the web as downloadable image files from its website [1] which i interpret as being free use, am i still breaking the wikipedia policy if i continue to use it despite its status on wikipedia? PS, have been editing the P&O Ferries page to include the P&OSL info.JonEastham 21:32, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Just leaving a message to say thanks for your help with the ChartClarity banner & the Charlie G. Hawkins page - although I was a bit confused as to why you removed the related links for him too?

I've changed the banner to "logo", I'm not sure if this is right though?

Also just noticed you've deleted my latest change to Charlie's page already, confused...

Cheers, (HelterSkelter88 13:11, 28 April 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Drake and Josh

Why did you nominate the episode "Treehouse" from Drake Josh for deletion? [2] This episode is a real episode as the link says.- Sure it doesn't give enough content but we will get some when the episode is released.ForestH2 23:39, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] rfa

[edit] Age of consent in Africa

Howdy, would you consider replaceing the framework page Age of consent in Africa as it is a subpage of the age of consent project. It currently has no content as these pages are being added to with valid content after all the non-cited unverified information was removed. Africa has not seen any entries as yet, but until a couple weeks ago that was true of a number of the sub pages.

Having the page there provides a place for new entries to be added as the project progresses. The temporary banner at the top helps stop people adding the rubbish entries that plagued the previous version of age of consent

Age of consent -- Age_of_consent_in_Asia -- Age_of_consent_in_Australia_and_Oceania -- Age_of_consent_in_Europe -- Age_of_consent_in_North_America -- Age_of_consent_in_South_America

[edit] A landslide victory for The JPS (aka RFA thanks)

Hey, UkPaolo/Archive3, thank you so much for your vote and comments in my RfA, which passed with an overwhelming consensus of 95/2/2. I was very surprised and flattered that the community has entrusted me with these lovely new toys. I ripped open the box and started playing with them as soon as I got them, and I've already had the pleasure of deleting random nonsense/attacks/copyvios tonight.
If I ever do anything wrong, or can help in some way, please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page, and I will do my best to correct my mistake, or whatever...
Now, to that bottle of wine waiting for me...

[edit] Thank you

I would just like to thank you for reverting Unisouth's edits on Arriva London and First London. If you could also have a look at these when you get a chance, I would be very grateful:

[edit] what you think your doing

i hope above didnt force you but these garage details are not needed and in some cases illegal. i urge you to revert back to my corrections or further enquires will be needed the southerner 15:52, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

maybe but i removed all the addresses and thats all of whats left. hence you can see how much space is wasted. so im going to remove ALL of these and thats final. all you need is a list of buses operated and the locations of the depots/garages not the addreses and which bus leaves where. thats stupid. so as from now - no more addresses. the southerner 16:12, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] leave me alone

why does everyone on this stupid excuse for an online encyclopedia keep starting on me. ive made up my mind. im going on a rampage and then you lot will see whats good and whats bad. i was just trying to be civil but you should know what that is the way you keep oning about it. see you when you dont want me to see you. the southerner 16:15, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] no its not the route i will take...

...but if this other editor keeps trying to prove-a-point then ban him as i dont want all this hassle. i still believe its a poor excuse for an encyclopedia if i cant even edit anymore as the other [non-] contributer keeps trying to prove a point. the only way i can stop it is delete his edits. which im not im just removed all the garage information whichs includes operator codes and registration numbers which ARE ILEGAL using real ilegal content (not just images because thats just borrowing without asking which i do not) he should be banned. i respect everyones opinion but if this is the way is has to be. this is the way is has to be. i strongly think that wikipedians (aint that dumb) should be put through a mental online test before coming here and think there all that. as for over a million articles - fulse. most pages only have two lines and thats only got information we already know about. dont block me from editing without notice. the southerner 16:31, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] leave me alone NOW

      • afer reading your message on that poisons talk page i respect you to leave my only personal space on here alone. if i blank my talk page it will stay blank you here. avoid confrontation no i wont but i will when every contrib' of its is gone or at least made better through modification addresses and [valid] registration paltes are ilegal to put up to the public unless it has strictly got permision by the vechcle owner of which who is allowed. i do know these things and all subsiqeunt edits of my edits will be reverted no matter what the ridiculous 3rr rule is. the southerner 16:41, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] May the Force be with you.

Dear UkPaolo/Archive3,

Thanks for voting on my RFA! I appreciate your faith in me, and was overwhelmed by the positive response to my RFA; for it shows that at least I'm doing something right. :) I've started working to improve myself already, and I hope that next time, things run better, and maybe, just maybe, one day we can bask on the shores of Admintopia together. Thanks and cheers, _-M o P-_ 04:00, Sunday June 15, 2008 (UTC)

[edit] BLOCKED

i have been blocked again this time supposedly of vandelism of the big brother page. i dont like bb so why would i. this person who blocked got a stupid graphical star just for it an i didnt do anything. that user should be banned for life for it. everyone (and i mean it) makes a mockery of my opression and all my articles should not be edited by these people. if im not unblocked in the next hour then i will do something to his precious star. PS: why do you get a graphic for blocking someone who shouldnt be blocked? the southerner 09:58, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] myspace

Hello, UkPaolo. I'm not just adding commercial links. I created that entire section, and it is informative and many people find it valuable information. I don't appreciate you deleting it, and the users of wikipedia don't appreciate it. The purpose of a wiki is so people can add and share information, not so you can dictate what is allowed and what isn't. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PencilSharpener (talkcontribs)

[edit] Thanks for the support on my RfA!

Image:Danavecpurpletiger.jpg A belated thank you to you for Supporting my RFA! It passed 54/2/3, much better than I expected! I am still finding my feet as an Administrator, and so far I am enjoying the experience. I am honoured that you felt I was ready to take up this position, and wish to thank you formally! I hope I can live up to your expectations of me. Once again, thank you! --Darth Deskana (talk page) 19:17, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deleting revisions

Hi, as you know I'm a new admin. I've read the how to guide on removing page revisions from edit history... delete the page and then undelete all the versions except the ones you want deleted. I did that, but it got all mucked up. You've fixed it now... I was wondering if you might know where I went wrong, and be willing to explain how I can do this in the future? Thanks. --Darth Deskana (talk page) 22:10, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
Stressbusters
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!
  1. Posting logs of the Esperanza IRC channel are explicitly banned anywhere. Violation of this rule results in deletion and a ban from the channel.
  2. A disclaimer is going to be added to the Esperanza main page. We are humans and, as such, are imperfect.
  3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.
  4. Referendums are to be held on whether terms of AC members should be lengthened and whether we should abolish votes full stop.
  5. Admin Coaching reform is agreed upon.

[edit] Touth as an admin

I wonder about answering this one.....

You see, I didn't want to get Touth's hopes down. Actully, I know you need to have AT least 1,000 edits on the English or you know 5-8 months before becoming an admin. I suggest Touth thinks about just editing for another 4 months....ForestH2

Furthermore I told him that he could become an admin any time he wanted and it sounded like he really wanted do this so I said 100 edits but as you and I know it's 1,000 edits or 5-8 months.

So long as you understand. I see what you mean, and I would hate to discourage Touth from editing, but I think honesty is the best policy here. He's never going to gain support in an RFA with such little experience. UkPaolo/talk 13:21, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
