[edit] Photo time
Would you consider addiing a photo to this article just as long as it isn't that dumb "naughty dog scetch"? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.244.187.122 (talk) 21:24, 20 March 2007 (UTC).
Yes, but I'm afraid I don't have the proper equipment to emulate a photo from Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (see my request above) and submit it to Wikipedia, so I'll just have to find someone who does so that we can finally set this page up for a re-assessment. Too big to be a stub, y'know? Cat's Tuxedo 21:53, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Got one. Cat's Tuxedo 02:06, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] WP:VG Assessment
- Needs more references outside of the game itself.
- Same as before, note that it is very unlikely that this article will get above B-class due to the lack of reliable non-biased sources available.

[edit] Voice
I removed the paragraph in the "Voice" section that says Uka Uka (and the other characters) don't have voice actors in Crash Bash since the Internet Movie Data Base says they do have voice actors.
- I hate to break it to you, but the IMDb isn't the most reliable movie website around. A lot of the information there (which is largely unsourced) is sent in by users, aka fanboys. Look around: there is no official source citing that Crash Bash actually has voice actors. Not in the manual, not in the in-game credits, nowhere. So the only option here is that you revert your deletion and get rid of anything that says that Clancy Brown voiced Uka Uka in Crash Bash before I report you to the administrators for vandalism. Think about it. Cat's Tuxedo 22:12, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Actor Portrayal
I the "Actor Portrayal" section, whenever I put in information that Clancy Brown does not voice Uka Uka in "Crash Team Racing", someone removes it. Can anyone explain why?
- Because it's not true and is therefore vandalism. Does that answer your question? Cat's Tuxedo 01:51, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
So does that mean Uka Uka DOES have a voice actor in that game?
- Yes: Clancy Brown. Cat's Tuxedo 14:39, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Uka Uka has no lines in CTR, with only two sound effects which are Aku Aku's played backwards. Machine758 19:04, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Seems to me you've never actually played the game. Uka Uka and Aku Aku give hints to the player in Adventure Mode whenever the player wins a Trophy, aproaches a Load/Save screen for the first time, approaches a door or portal they can't go into yet, and in other places. Cat's Tuxedo 19:24, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Oh. Oops. My mistake. Sorry. We should therefore put down whoever did voice him. And who was that? 82.26.67.224 12:17, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Like I said, that's Clancy Brown. The enclosed instruction book says so. Cat's Tuxedo 14:01, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Request changes be made to Title picture of Uka Uka
It seems someone's turned up the sturation on the picture, making it too bright, could someone fix this? --~~Neo 2.3 Hylan 15:36, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
I tried reverting it, but the guy who did it just reverted it back. We could just wait until good Crash of the Titans clips featuring him appear on YouTube, but I pretty much quit uploading photos since every one I upload gets flagged for not having a fair use rationale (even the ones I do put a fair use on), so you're on your own on this. Cat's Tuxedo 16:16, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Is the new split photo really neccesary? Only the character's most recent appearance is needed, yet someone opted to have the character's old appearance in the infobox right next to the current appearance. Why can't people just forget about the past and live for today, huh? Y'know, out with the old, in with the new? But thankfully, with a little permission, I might just have that photo reverted back to the one and only current model. Cat's Tuxedo 23:39, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Teen Titans
Would whoever keeps putting in Teen Titans star please stop. John DiMaggio is more of a Futurama star
- That is correct, but the voice he used in Futurama is much different from the voice he is currently using for Uka Uka. It'd be more logical if we used a program in which he used a similar voice to Uka Uka. Cat's Tuxedo 19:22, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
The thing is, John Dimaggio has a much smaller role in Teen Titans than he does in Futurama. Kobb 22:29, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- His character in TT was the primary antagonist of the show's third season. That's a role I wouldn't really call small. Cat's Tuxedo 01:33, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
DiMaggio's role in Futurama will be more well-known than that of Teen Titans. And his voice is different for ALL of his roles. What needs to be there is the role he is most known for. Machine758 18:53, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Yes, and Futurama is more popular than Teen Titans anyway. And Bender is seen much more than the guy in Teen Titans as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kobb (talk • contribs) 22:59, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, all right. I guess that's Wikipedia for you. Cat's Tuxedo 10:59, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Eh?
Is the link to 'Attempted murder' really necessary? Attempted murder is actually different from attempting TO murder someone. Machine758 18:58, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:WrathUka.JPG
Image:WrathUka.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] In response to Coconutred73's query
"What the hell are you talking about?"
The personality section specifically states that Uka Uka has suffered from bulimia nervosa, a form of mental illness. Also he is quite clearly a narcissist because the personality section also states that he believes himself superior to and looks down on everyone around him. That's what I'm talking about. 86.133.200.236 18:13, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I can understand the bulimia part, but it doesn't really matter about the narcissist bit; that category's been deleted before, and it will be deleted again. Cat's Tuxedo 19:04, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you but I wouldn't be so negative. With any luck users will be more sElective in who goes in the category this time. 86.133.200.236 19:42, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe, but on a side note, I think the category should be renamed to 'Fictional histrionics and narcissists'; the two are pretty similar, but I think that's a discussion for another board. Cat's Tuxedo 23:01, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes I agree. Uka Uka does exhibit behaviour consistent with Histrionic Personality Disorder from what I've read in the personality section (I don't actually play the games). He does sound like he loves being the centre of attention. -- 86.133.200.236 (talk) 19:35, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
I'snt it obvious? It's a coincidence. ADBandicoot (talk) 17:11, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Actually I've taken a closer look at the page for Histrionic Personality Disorder and he doesn't. Most narcissists enjoy being the centre of attention as well. I'm sorry ADBandicoot, what's a coincidence? 86.133.200.236 (talk) 18:55, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
He may, but how can an evil spirit mask guy have a mental disorder? ADBandicoot 17:51, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- Technically, anything with a mind can have a mental disorder (such as bulimia), and anything with a personality can have a personality disorder (such as psychopathy). Cat's Tuxedo 19:03, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
erm, OK.. (imagines image of Uka Uka in mental hospital)ADBandicoot 16:02, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
They'd need a pretty big needle wouldn't they, lol. 86.133.200.236 20:55, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Getting a little off-topic, don't you think? Cat's Tuxedo 00:53, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes, forgive me. I have a tendency to go off on a tangent. Don't you think it's time we (well you, seeing as this article has actually only just captured my attention) got it peer reviewed. 86.133.200.236 (talk) 20:57, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- I think it was peer-reviewed a long time ago. That's how it got from a Start-class (I think) to a B-Class. However, the Doctor N. Gin article is currently in peer-review, so we might be able to get it to Good Article (if we find enough outside references). Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 21:24, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Really? Are you sure? Because at the top of the page it says that a request has been made for this article to be peer reviewed. Illustrious One (talk) 14:52, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Psychopathy
I understand a concern has been raised that the article needs to provide proof that Uka Uka is psychopathic. I have the diagnostic criteria for classical psychopathy here and I must say he does fit most of them.
1. Superficial charm and average or above intelligence - I don't know about charm but he does seem to be quite intelligent as shown by him devising complex plots such as the one where he tricked Aku Aku and gained the crystals (Crash Bash) and indeed his suggestion to use the Elementals to power Cortex's doomsday device (Wrath of Cortex).
2. Absence of delusions and other signs of irrational thinking - seems to think fairly rationally about everything. And he certainly knows what he's doing.
3. Absence of "nervousness" or psychoneurotic manifestations - he never seems to get nervous. Angry yes but nervous, no.
4. Unreliability - I don't think you could count on a demonic spirit mask to do anything for you unless that was "be a pain in the arse" in which case he's your man, er, mask.
5. Untruthfulness and insincerity - He tricks Aku Aku in Crash Bash and he doesn't tell Cortex the full power of the Elementals in Wrath of Cortex.
6. Lack of remorse and shame - He never exhibits remorse for his actions and he's far too proud to be ashamed. He actually seems to take pleasure in his villainy.
7. Inadequately motivated antisocial behavior - Hmm. Not too sure. He wants to rule the world, I think that's a fairly adequate motivation.
8. Poor judgment and failure to learn by experience - He does lash out without thinking about the consequences like in Wrath of Cortex when he attempted to "zap" Cortex but ended up destroying the base. He does learn from his mistakes though (eventually) like replacing Cortex at least twice (N-Tranced and Titans).
9. Pathologic egocentricity and incapacity for love - There is no doubt Uka Uka does think VERY highly of himself. He looks down on everyone around him to quote the Personality section and frequently refers to himself in the third person as "the Great Uka Uka." And he doesn't seem to love anyone that we've seen except himself. On the contrary, he appears to be a misanthrope.
10. General poverty in major affective reactions - Not really. He does have a fiery temper.
11. Specific loss of insight - Bit too vague to answer.
12. Unresponsiveness in general interpersonal relations - I took this to mean romance. He never actually forms any interpersonal relationships. For one thing, he's far too aloof and superior, and for another, he's a possessed mask. He has no genitalia.
13. Fantastic and uninviting behavior with drink and sometimes without - He never drinks because he hasn't got a body. He does behave quite fantastically and uninvitingly without drink though. Trying to kill everyone and conquer the world seems quite fantastic and uninviting.
14. Suicide threats rarely carried out - He never contemplates suicide and I don't think he ever would kill himself. That would mean the end of the games. And for another thing he appears to be far to fond of himself to even considere suicide.
15. Sex life impersonal, trivial, and poorly integrated - He doesn't have a sex life, per No. 12.
16. Failure to follow any life plan - Hmm. His life plan appears to be to enslave the universe and boss everyone in it around. Not a very good life plan but a life-plan nevertheless.
Yep. He ticks almost every box. I think it's official. He's a psycho. Oh and someone please remove that silly little notice saying the article is unencyclopedic and being considered for deletion, blah, blah, blah. --Illustrious One (talk) 21:29, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with the person who said the deletion proposal is silly. Uka Uka is a major antagonist of a largely popular video game series. I think that perfectly constitutes an article. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 22:12, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you Cat's Tuxedo, that would be me. People are getting completely article deletion happy around here, deleting meaningful article after meaningful article. Next they'll be deleting the Darth Vader article for not meeting the fiction notability guidelines. Who's the editor who proposed this article be deleted anyway? I want to have a word with them. --Illustrious One (talk) 14:43, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- It's this one, sir: User:Collectonian. But I seriously doubt the Darth Vader article will be deleted; the character has had numerous appearances and parodies outside his series (Uka Uka's never even had one), but that's for another article. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 15:05, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Collectonian, eh. I might have known. No, I was only joking about the Darth Vader article being deleted, I have a rather odd sense of humour. I'm glad to see this one is no longer being considered for deletion however. --Illustrious One (talk) 18:45, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Save Uka Uka.
Mr Uka-Uka-Hater has, once again, put the article up for deletion with not a single legimate reason as to why it should be, despite the fact he clearly meets the criteria we set out for him. Those of you who wish to save our favourite evil mask visit Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Uka Uka and set things right, because he's clearly not understanding. CBFan (talk) 11:28, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
I know, the man's a pathological deletist. He deleted my article on the Lord of Darkness from Legend. No doubt you've heard of the character. He'll be deleting the article on Ming the Merciless next. Not to worry, he shan't have his way with Uka Uka. I'll go and give him a piece of my mind right now. I'd head for cover if I were you! --Illustrious One (talk) 13:50, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Out of the tree?
It says in the article that Uka Uka creates a body from the Island's tree in Titans, but from what I remember he actually used the Evolvo-Ray to evolve that body from himself. Can we check that? Machine758 (talk) 21:26, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
