Ujire is a village near Dharmasthala.It is situated in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.This is a junction, where road deviates to Dharmasthala and Mudigere of Chikkamagaluru.

This place is famous for its educational institutes most of them belonging to SDME( Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara Educational) Trust. SDM Pre-University and degree college is one of the famous colleges in Karnataka imparting bachelor's degree in arts,commerce and science. SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences is the pioneer college in India,provinding degree in Naturopathy and Yogic Science.SDM Education Trust has started SDM Institute Of Technology, in the year 2007.

This village is also having three primary and higher primary schools. The head office for RUDSETI, a self employment training institute is also located here.
