UH Racing is the one of two teams to enter every single formula student event in the UK, University of Birmingham being the only other team to achieve this, with many trophies won throughout the years. The University of Hertfordshire claim that every F1 team employs at least one former UH Racing team member. [1]

[edit] UH10

Adam Kester and his team finished 8th at Formula Student UK, they carried out a complete change in the car this year opting for the Yamaha R6 engine as opposed to the Triumph Daytona. This has allowed them to take a considerable amount of weight from the car, weighing at 200KG.

[edit] UH11

Ian Burgess and his team entered and won the class 3 event, also achieving the Learning Grid Design award. The team initiated a radical change in direction, reverting from rule of thumb design, to full simulation and analysis of the car before being put into manufacture. The UH Racing lapSim has been developed by James Waters which improves the understanding how the formula student cars performs dynamically.

[edit] UH09b

UH racing also retained the Class 1-200 title.

[edit] UH08h

John Goddard and James Waters developed UH08 to run on Hydrogen power, for the alternative fuel event at Formula Student UK. The only team that managed to get a running car in this event. The crowds were treated to a pioneering moment from UH Racing, as UH08h is the first and so far only FSAE car to be powered by hydrogen[6].

[edit] UH09

Dan Jones and his team continued on with the good work of the UH08 car and achieved UH racing's highest ever finish in the UK event of 5th place.

UH09 used the same Triumph 600cc as the previous year and the same basic chassis design, but with improvements over the whole car a reduction of 20kg's was achieved. UH09 weighed 210Kg and was able to accelerate from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.

[edit] UH08b

Oliver Best and his team re-engineered the highly successful UH08 car from 2005. The team won the class 1-200 events with the best developed car award. This was achieved by considerable testing and development winning by 121 points. The Team also helped prepare the car for the FSAE event in Detroit in which the original UH08 team reformed to compete finishing as the top UK team again.
