Ugly was the debut single from Blaque's unreleased third album, Torch, which featured rapper Missy Elliott. The single was released to radio stations on June 10, 2003 in hopes of creating a buzz for their upcoming album. However, disappointing airplays led to Elektra scrapping the single and delaying the album in hopes of reviving the album with their next single.
