PERFORMER(S) Debs, Nicholas
NOTES The lullaby in the Arabic language is based on a fourteenth century historical incident, which took place in Lebanon. This little story is told in song, and is meant to express the love of a father and mother for their children, as well as the danger they will risk in order to get a child out of trouble.
A textual transcription of this song, in English and entitled "Lebanese Lullaby," forms part of this collection.
Mr. Nicholas Debs came to the United States in 1920.
