[edit] 1966

  • At around 10:30 a.m on April 6, 1966, many students and some staff at Westall High School (now called Westall Secondary College), in Rosebank Avenue, Clayton South, Victoria, Australia, witnessed a UFO fly over their school, and then descend into a paddock behind the school.

[edit] 1978

  • The Valentich Disappearance occurred on October 21, 1978, when 20 year old Frederick Valentich disappeared while piloting a small Cessna 182 aircraft over the Bass Strait to King Island, Australia, after reporting a strange craft flying nearby. The disappearance generated significant press attention, both throughout Australia and internationally. No trace of Valentich or his Cessna has been found, and his description of a large, unusual object has earned his vanishing a place in UFO lore. A Department of Transport aircraft accident investigation concluded the reason for the disappearance could not be determined.

[edit] 1988

On 21 January 1988 a family came in contact with a UFO while travelling there Nullabor Plain in South Australia. [1]

[edit] 1997

In 1997 two young children, Brendon Wright (age 8) and Maria Mackney (age 6) reportedly witnessed a series of triangular shaped objects appear from the sky and "spin" and "hover" behind their coach. The two were travelling in rural Australia from Brisbane to Melbourne, and the exact location is unknown, possibly somewhere in the NSW western rural district. The two both witnessed it at the same time and described very vividly (11 years later) the details even though at the time they were young.

The objects were described as "purple-pink and mauve coloured triangles, ranging in size from the size of the bus roof to as tall as a house, and they seemingly appeared from nowhere. Slightly following the bus, they soon were too slow". It is not known if anyone else witnessed the objects. "They were very vivid for the dead of the night and looked like small tornadoes, alhtough they were flat and short".
