UFC 55: Fury was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on October 7, 2005 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The event was broadcasted live on pay-per-view in the United States, and later released on DVD. Headlining the card was a title match between UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski and Paul Buentello.

This bout ended in No Contest at :10 in round two after Sakara was unintentionally kicked in the groin. The bout, although preliminary, was aired on the broadcast.
Cruz defeats Kunihara by submission (rear naked choke) at 1:02 of round two. This bout was preliminary, and was not aired on the broadcast.
Rivera defeats Hallman by unanimous decision. The bout, although preliminary, was aired on the broadcast.

Joe Riggs, making his debut at welterweight (170 lb), defeats Chris Lytle by technical knockout (doctor stoppage) at 2:00 of round two.
Sobral defeats Sonnen by submission (triangle choke) at 1:20 of round two.
Griffin defeats Sinosic by technical knockout (strikes) at 3:30 of round one. Sinosic, the Australian, was a replacement for Griffin's original opponent, Ian Freeman, who suffered an injury before the fight and had to withdraw from the fight card. [1]
In the evening's swing bout, Hinkle defeats Gannon by technical knockout (strikes) at 4:14 of round one.
In the main event of the evening, heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski successfully defends his title and defeats Paul Buentello by knockout at :15 of round one. The UFC decided this match would be for the official UFC Heavyweight title, as former UFC Heavyweight champion Frank Mir, who had been badly injured in a motorcycle accident, was still unable to compete.
