UFC 54: Boiling Point was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on August 20, 2005, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event was broadcasted live on pay-per-view in the United States, and later released on DVD. Headlining the card were Chuck Liddell, the Light Heavyweight champion, and Jeremy Horn.

Irvin defeats Martin by knockout from a flying knee at :09 of round two. Irvin's strike left Martin unconscious in the ring, prompting medical officials to carry him out of the arena on a stretcher. [2] Martin sustained no debilitating injuries. The bout, although preliminary, was aired on the broadcast.
Prangley defeats Lutter by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 for Prangley. During the bout, Prangley committed two accidental fouls (knee strikes to the groin); however, he was still able to win the judges' decision. This bout was preliminary, and was not aired on the broadcast.
Lindland defeats Doerksen by unanimous decision. The judges scored the bout 30-27, 29-28, and 30-27 for Lindland. At the post-fight press conference, it was revealed that Matt Lindland had become the #1 contender for the championship title; however, shortly after this, the UFC released Lindland from their roster. St. Pierre defeats Trigg by submission (rear naked choke) at 4:09 of round one. This fight would be the third time in as many fights that Trigg would be submitted from his back by the exact same technique.
Sanchez defeats Gassaway by submission (strikes) at 1:56 of round two.
Couture defeats van Arsdale by submission (anaconda choke) at :52 of round three. With this victory, Couture became the #1 contender for the championship title.
In the evening's swing bout, Sylvia defeats Telligman by knockout (head kick) at 4:59 of round one.
In the main event of the evening, Light Heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell, successfully defends his title and defeats Jeremy Horn by TKO(verbal submission) at 2:46 of round four. After a blow to his left eye, Horn told referee 'Big' John McCarthy that he could not see and verbally quit, prompting McCarthy to end the match.
