UFC 36: Worlds Collide was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship at the MGM Grand Arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada on March 22, 2002. The event was seen live on pay per view in the United States, and later released on home video. The card was headlined by two Title Bouts, a Heavyweight Championship bout between Randy Couture and Josh Barnett, and a Welterweight Title Bout between Matt Hughes and Hayato Sakurai. UFC 36 marked the last UFC appearance of former 170 lb Champion Pat Miletich.

Sherk wins by unanimous decision at 15:00. All three judges scored the bout 30-27 for Sherk.
Serra wins by submission (triangle choke) at 2:58 of the first round.
Mir wins by submission (Shoulder lock) at :46 of the first round.
Tanner wins by TKO (doctor stoppage due to cut) at 2:06 of the first round.
Lindland wins by TKO (referee stoppage due to strikes) at 3:09 of the first round.
Hughes wins by TKO (referee stoppage due to strikes) at 3:01 of the fourth round.
Rizzo wins by KO at 1:45 of the third round.
Barnett becomes the UFC Heavyweight Champion by TKO (referee stoppage due to strikes) at 4:35 of the second round. Afterwards Barnett would be stripped of the UFC Heavyweight title when he tested positive for steroids during a mandatory post-fight drug test. Barnett left the UFC shortly after the failed test.
