From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Standings and results for Group 5 of the 1992 UEFA European Football Championship qualifying tournament.

Group 5 was played as four team group consisting of Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and Wales. At the time of the draw on 2 February 1990, Group 5 had contained five teams, with East Germany and West Germany drawn together two months after the fall of the Berlin wall. As the reunification of Germany was confirmed on 23 August with effect of 3 October 1990, East Germany's opening game on 12 September in Belgium was re-classed as a friendly. All other games were cancelled as East Germany withdrew as its association also joined the German DFB. Germany lost 1-0 in Wales, but won all other games and the group.
