Udyavara

Udyavara is a village on the outskirts of Udupi town. It is located to south of Udipi and to the north of the Udyavara river. Because of the huge demand for houses in the area, it is slowly becoming a suburb of Udupi town. National highway 17 passes through this village. A Ayurveda College campus is near by.

there three important temples in udyavara, which was formerly called udayapura. 1.siddivinayaka temple 2.durgaparameshwari temple(chamkal devastana) 3.shambushaileshwara temple.(pade devathana} ganapathi of siddivinayaka temple is the village deity of udyapura(grama devaru).the are many small sub villages like pithrody,sampigenagara,bolargudde,bolja,etc which come under the udyavara grama panchayat.river papanashini flows through udyavara. the sharadotsava of udyavar{ganapathi devasthana) is gaining popularity year by year.the vigraha of sharada devi is installed at temple during navaratri(on the day of moola nakshatra}.the mrittika vigraha is prepared by ramamoorthy bhatru and it is noted for its beauty.on vijayadashami the vigraha will be immersed in the pushkarini.
