Uday Chopra is an Indian actor of Bollywood film. He is the son of Yash Chopra (director and producer) and brother of Aditya Chopra (director of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Mohabbatein). He has been assistant director on a number of his father's and brother's movies.

He made his debut in the Yash Raj films movie Mohabbatein. This film starred Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, and four other debutantes (Shamita Shetty, Jimmy Shergill, Preeti Jhangiani, Kim Sharma) and Jugal Hansraj. The film did well at the box office.[citation needed]

Uday has mostly done films under his father's production house. He starred in 2004 in the action thriller Dhoom and starred in its sequel Dhoom 2, released in 2006. Together with his brother Aditya Chopra, Uday helps to run Yashraj Productions, and plays a major role in the Information Technology and digital rights management of the company.

Before making his debut in Mohabbatein in 2000, Uday produced Yeh Dillagi (1994) starring Akshay Kumar, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan. It was directed by Naresh Malhotra.

Recently it was reported that Uday Chopra will go into directing films like his father and brother however there has been no official confirmation of this,

Uday Chopra's childhood friends are Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan.

Uday started dating Tanisha in 2005, whom he met on the sets of Neal N Nikki. In 2007 they broke up. Both Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra stayed at Girnar Apartments in Pali Hill, Bandra, Mumbai till the early 1980s before moving out to Juhu.
