This image was uploaded in the JPEG format even though it consists of non-photographic data. The information it contains could be stored more efficiently or more accurately in the PNG format or SVG format.
If possible, please upload a PNG or SVG version of this image, derived from a non-JPEG source so that it doesn't contain any compression artifacts (or with existing artifacts removed) and with transparency where appropriate. Rationale: Represents the graphical identity of UC Riverside. According to the UCR StyleGuide:

"The UC Riverside identity is a customized wordmark. To reproduce the wordmark, approved artwork files must be used."[2]

Additionally:

  • Under United States law, this logo, a trademark of UCR, may be used on other sites for purposes of criticism and commentary. The Wikipedia article serves to do that. Its presence in the infobox in the UCR article is neither artistic or editorial.
  • There is no free equivalent, because one cannot be produced, according to the UCR Style Guide. The only allowable logograph is this logo, and any reproduction, digital or otherwise, does not represent the university.
  • In no way does this inhibit trademark policies set forth by UCR. It cannot and will not be used to sell merchandise or propogate advertisement.
  • This is used once in one Wikipedia article. It is the highest resolution of the official logo available to the public.
