Talk:UCLA/VA Multicampus PM&R Residency Program
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Per notability guidelines for organizations, it says "Individual chapters of national and international organizations are usually not notable enough to warrant a separate article unless sufficient notability is established through reliable and verifiable sources." I believe UCLA/VA PM&R program is well-established enough and has enough of a national presence (as evidenced by alumni such as Dr. Kerrigan who is now chair of PM&R dept at Univ. Virginia) that it warrants a Wikipedia article. Kato 00:57, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Please see WP:N for what notability means (as in the guideline you quoted "unless sufficient notability is established..."). To show notability please cite enough reliable sources that we could use to write a good article about this this program. Thanks, Pan Dan 16:42, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, tough to find an article from third party describing a residency program. Will keep looking. Until then, will just have to invoke "If the rules prevent you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia, ignore them." Kato 23:25, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

- Without third party sources, it's tough to write an encyclopedia article. The rules are not there not to be a pain in the !#@# , they're there because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a catalogue. With all due respect to the residency program itself, which I'm sure is a fine program, I disagree that this article in its current form is an improvement to Wikipedia. - I respectfully disagree that subject of this article is any less deserving of an encyclopedia article than Natick (MBTA station) or German Type XIV submarine Kato 01:03, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

- I didn't say that this article is less deserving than any other existing article, so you don't have to respectfully (or even disrespectfully) disagree with me on that point :-). But please see WP:POKEMON. Pan Dan 11:14, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
