[edit] Reporting vandalism
Thanks for reporting the vandal on White (people) to WP:AIV. The vandal has been dealt with. --Cyde Weys 03:05, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
- you, my friend, deserve a WikiThanks for this edit: [1]. I wonder, if you wouldn't mind taking a look at London Lock Hospital? There is some abiguity about the 1746/1747 dates which I hope you could fix too with your expertise :-) --HappyCamper 03:14, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] A tool for leaving warning messages
Hi. I noticed that you actively revert vandalism to articles. Thanks!! I also noticed that in at least one case (Ernest Hemingway) you didn't leave a warning message on the vandal's talk page. I know that leaving lots of messages can be tedious, even with the templates documented at Wikipedia:Vandalism, so I've made a tool to help make it quick and easy. It's explained at User:Kbh3rd/Vandal_warning_toolbox. A list of warnings can be added to that toolbox menu on the left whenever a user talk page is being edited so that the proper warning message is only a click away. You might like to try it out.
Thanks again for your help! (Great username, btw.) --Kbh3rdtalk 02:33, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey. Concerning the following IP address, this is a computer at my school and is used by hundreds of people every day. I am typing from it as I speak. I'm not sure what the policy is on these sort of addresses but I though I would let you know that. Normy132 05:00, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Normy, I understand your concern. Please understand that in order to remain a credible encyclopedia, Wikipedia must do it's best to prevent vandalism. The good news is that even if the IP is blocked for a short period of time, users that have an account (like yourself) will be able to continue making changes.Ucanlookitup 05:13, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fox News Controversies
Sorry about that. I'm not sure how that happened. Thanks for the note. FeloniousMonk 05:22, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Found the cause. There's a known issue it seems. The warning message "Attention Firefox and Google Toolbar users: You may find that long pages are cut off unexpectedly while editing in tabs; please be careful. This issue has been reported to Google, and we hope they will fix it." appears on the edit page when you edit an entire page (as opposed to a section). I'm using both Firefox and Google Toolbar, so I'm doomed. Thanks for your note again. FeloniousMonk 04:13, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

- I thought that might be it. I use FF as well - that's a real annoying bug. I wonder if anyones told Mozilla about it. Thanks for letting me know.Nice nickname BTW. I take it, your a jazz fan. Ucanlookitup 10:41, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mel Gibson
Hey, thanks for the feedback. I don't fully understand why you deleted my contribution to this page. I figured that his Jew-hatred was as important if not moreso than his being US-born or Australian-raised. To keep the controversy under control, I still listed his Jew-hatred last as if to give the impression that it was not as important, but you and I both know the truth. I would appreciate if you would not disrupt my assistance in making Wikipedia a more comprehensive and reliable source of information in the future. Thanks. 69.161.135.145 03:42, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- Insterting "Jew-Hating" into the article hardly qualifies as NPOV. You can certainly add a reliable source that describes the incident, but merely inserting an epithet into the article is vandalism.
[edit] Lieberman
I'm going to stop working until I can figure out if you caught all the vandalism: let me know? Thanks, Sandy 00:32, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- He was a persistant fellow, but he's been blocked for now. I'll keep an eye on it for a while. Sorry you had such a frustrating time of it.

- Thanks, but there have been many over the last few days. I put in a request for semi-protection, since it hasn't eased up for several days. OK, I'll go back to cleaning up refs now :-) Sandy 00:38, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- Looks like you got the semi-protection. Happy editing!

[edit] blog
I've removed my blog but you put it back again! why? Celine in texas 02:35, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Celine, I deleted it because in each edit you were removing the tag requesting deletion. Until the discussion is closed, the tag should remain. I see in your latest edit, you left the tag in place - that's great. Please feel free to participate in the discussion by clicking on the link in the tag. Ucanlookitup 02:40, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mistake
I keep getting messages from you and other moderators that I'm editing the Wizard page. I have done no such thing. Either you have the wrong IP or the person doing it is using a proxy.
- Hi - The edit you're referring to ([2]) was back in August, 2006. It's entirely possible that someone else had that IP address then. If the comments are not relevant to you, feel free to remove them. Ucanlookitup 01:12, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] ?
May I ask you why you have reverted my edits: Javier Sotomayor and Orlando Hernández? What do you think is wrong? Doma-w 17:51, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Doma-w, I recognize that Orlando Hernandez Pedrosa may well be his birth name . His divorce decree (per smoking gun) seems to indicate that. I'm also aware that his mother's name was Pedrosa. To simply change his name, though, without providing a context or citing sources is confusing. Are you saying that his current legal name is Pedrosa? I don't think that's accurate. If you want to add his birthname and cite appropriate sources - I have no problem with that. Authoritative sources that I can find, though, list him as Orlando Hernandez.
-
- Thank you for your answer. First of all I do not understand why you have revert my complete edit, when you have only a problem with the name? For me there are enough sources to add the name. Sorrily I have no idea if this is only his birthname and not his current name. If you are sure, that birthname and current name differs, maybe you can change it into Orlando Hernández, née Hernández Pedroso? Is this an appropriate solution for you? Thank you and :) Doma-w 09:03, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks for the clarification. I'm noticing that articles about people from Spanish countries seem to be inconsistent with regard to using the mother's name as the second surname. Sounds like an issue for the manual of style.Ucanlookitup 00:44, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
