The UC Davis Graduate School of Management is one of 10 schools and colleges at the University of California, Davis. The school was established in 1981. The school runs a range of internationally reputed programs and are consistently ranked among the best in the country.

Under the direction of Professor Andrew Hargadon, the Center for Entrepreneurship provides researchers and MBA students with the necessary skills, resources and network support to turn their ideas into action for profit or for social benefit. The center brings science, engineering and business students and faculty together with experienced entrepreneurs, investors and corporate leaders in an highly collaborative environment that blends effective theory with hands-on participation and solution-driven innovation.

Under the direction of Professor Brad M. Barber, the Center for Investor Welfare and Corporate Responsibility draws on the expertise of Graduate School of Management faculty engaged in research related to investor welfare, corporate fraud, white-collar crime, corporate ethics and social responsibility. The Center advocates for improved corporate practices, educates investors through research and outreach, and better prepare MBA students for today's global business arena.

Under the direction of Professor Richard C. Dorf, The MBA Consulting Center offers high-quality field study experiences to our MBA students who have completed the core courses. Students apply the business knowledge acquired in other courses to real-world situations.

For 13 consecutive years, U.S. News & World Report has ranked the UC Davis MBA program among the nation's top 20 graduate business schools at public institutions and among the top 50 overall the top 50 public and private MBA programs. The program has received praise in marketing, finance and Entrepreneurship, but is especially well regarded in organizational behavior. U.S. News & World Report also ranks UC Davis MBA program as one of the nation's most selective MBA programs, with about 28 percent of applicants to the Daytime MBA program are accepted, the 12th lowest acceptance rate in the country.

The Wall Street Journal ranks the Graduate School of Management among the top 30 regional business schools in the nation by the journal's corporate recruiters survey.

The Financial Times' Global MBA Survey ranks the Graduate School of Management #2 in the field of Organizational Behavior and among the top 30 MBA programs in the U.S. and 58th in the world.

The Economist Intelligence Unit ranks the UC Davis MBA program 80th in its global business school survey. The UC Davis Graduate School of Management placed 26th for the quality of its faculty.

Business 2.0 magazine has included the UC Davis MBA program in its “Insider’s Guide to America’s Top 25 Business Schools” for two consecutive years.

Forbes ranks the UC Davis Working Professional MBA program 16th among part-time MBA programs nationwide based on graduates' five-year return on investment.

Associated Students of Management (ASM) provides the framework for incorporating student ideas into the MBA program, networking with alumni, engaging in philanthropic activities, and coordinating extracurricular and social events. Its mission is to enhance the value of students' experience by creating a collaborative community that facilitates academic, social and professional growth while building a reputation for innovation and excellence.

Collaborating closely with the Career Services Center, the School's professional student groups raise awareness of career opportunities and offer services in specific fields, from marketing and finance to technology and consulting. By linking students, faculty, alumni and industry professionals, these clubs help develop future leaders, offer real-world experience, enhance career development and build connections.

Big Bang! is the annual UC Davis Business Plan Competition organized by MBA students. The competition promotes new business development, technology transfer and entrepreneurship on campus and in Northern California.

Challenge for Charity (C4C) supports the Special Olympics and family-related local charities while infusing business leaders with a lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility. This business school organization, the largest of its kind in the world, draws on the talents, energy and philanthropic efforts of MBA students from eight top West Coast business schools.

Net Impact fosters a new generation of leaders who use the power of business to create a better world. Net Impact offers a portfolio of programs to help its members broaden their business education, refine leadership skills, pursue professional goals and build their network.

The GSM offers many opportunities for those interested in playing recreational sports. There are various intramural teams that compete against other teams on campus in sports such as flag football, soccer, basketball, and innertube water polo. Perhaps the most widely acclaimed sports team affiliated with the GSM, however, is the Big Sticks softball team that competes in the city of Davis softball league in the Fall, Spring, and Summer seasons. The Big Sticks were formed in the summer of 2007 by a few students who were interning locally in the area and were looking for a way to display their athletic prowess for the city. With the help of a few graduating second year students and working professionals, the Big Sticks were able to go 5-2 in their first season. The team has subsequently maintained a .667 winning percentage winning the league title in Spring 2008.
