UC Davis Alpine Ski & Snowboard Team
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The UC Davis Alpine Ski Team charter was first signed in 1973
Since then the team has been racing against teams all over the Tahoe area including Sierra College, Sierra Nevada College, UC Berkeley, and Stanford.
The team participates in USCSA (US Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association) sanctioned races and has consistently placed racers in the top of the league, with national qualifiers almost yearly.
In 2004 the women's team qualified to nationals in Sugarloaf, Maine, and in 2007 the Men's team qualified for and competed at the USCSA Nationals in Winter Park, CO.
In the 2007-2008 school year the team expanded to include competitive snowboard racing, and will take on the name Davis Alpine Ski and Snowboard Team (DASS Team).
The team trains at Sugar Bowl in the Lake Tahoe area; fall dryland training, social, and fundraising activities take place in Davis year-round.
