Ubaydullah ibn al-Abbas was the son of al-Abbas ibn Ali and Lubaba bint Ubaydillah. He is the one who continued the lineage of his father after his two brothers were martyred in the Battle of Karbala. His two brothers were Fadl ibn Abbas and Qasim ibn al-Abbas
