Ubá is a small tropical city in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. As of 2004 its population was estimated to be at around 94,584. Home of the famous Ubá mango ( Manga Ubá ), possibly the best mango in Brazil. Famous composer and radio man Ary Barroso was born in Ubá on 7 November 1903. Ubaenses, the term used to refer to those who live in Uba, are typical Mineiros-- hard working, family oriented and very interested in preserving their cultural ties to Minas if they live away from their state, especially their culinary preferences.
