Usage

The {{U.S. Roads WikiProject}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters to use, it has a number of required ones for assessment and maps as well as optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax of the template and the most commonly used parameters are as follows:

Unless the article is about a subject that encompasses multiple states, always specify the state with state=. Use the two letter abbreviation. To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.

Accepted values are case insensitive unless otherwise specified.

class	FA A GA B Start Stub NA List Disambig (Dab) Redirect (Redir) Template Category (Cat)	A rating of the article's quality. Use the quality scale here.
importance	Top High Mid Low	A rating of the article's importance within the U.S. Roads WikiProject. Use the importance scale here.
needs-map	yes no NA	Indicates whether the article needs a map. If yes, articles are added to Category:U.S. Roads project articles needing maps; if no, articles are added to Category:U.S. Roads project maps task force articles. If the article does not require a map, use NA.

attention	yes	For articles requiring attention. A to-do list should be added to the talk page with the rationale for setting this parameter in the form of tasks. Articles are added to Category:U.S. road articles needing attention or a subcat.
attention-elg	yes	For articles with an exit list requiring attention. A to-do list should be added to the talk page with the rationale for setting this parameter in the form of tasks. Articles are added to Category:U.S. road articles with an exit list needing attention or a subcat.
mapdetails	any string	Use to specify details for a map.
merge	yes	Indicates the article has been proposed to be merged. Adds articles to Category:U.S. Roads project articles to be merged.
needs-infobox	yes	Indicates the article is missing an infobox. Adds articles to Category:U.S. road articles without infoboxes.
needs-shield	yes	Indicates the article is missing one or more shields. Adds articles to Category:U.S. Roads project articles needing shields.
nested	yes	For use with {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}.
photo	yes	Requests photos for the article. Use this instead of {{Reqphotoin}}.
PUSRD-SA	Month Year	Indicates the article is a current or former selected article of the Portal:U.S. Roads. Adds articles to Category:U.S. Roads Portal selected articles.
reassess	yes	Indicates the article may need a reassessment. Adds articles to Category:U.S. Roads project articles needing reassessment.
small	yes	Turns the banner into a right-floating infobox.
