Tyson Lee Griffin (born April 20, 1984 in Sacramento, California) is a professional mixed martial arts fighter from Santa Rosa, CA. Griffin currently fights as a Lightweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He has an 11-1 record in MMA, and is 4-1 in the UFC. He is also the only man to defeat WEC Featherweight champion Urijah Faber.
Tyson Griffin had 3 fights in the UFC in 2007 which all made a list of 10 best of 2007 fights. He ranked #9 when he fought Thiago Tavares at UFC 76: Knockout, where he won by a unanimous decision. He suffered his first loss at UFC 67: All or Nothing to Frank Edgar where he lost a close unanimous decision, ranking #7 on the list. Tysons best fight of 2007 ranked #3 when he fought and won a very close split desision against Clay Guida at UFC 72: Victory.[1]
Griffin's latest fight was against Gleison Tibau at UFC 81 on February 2, 2008 which he won by unanimous decision. [2]
