Tyrone Smith, born 12 July 1983 in Manly, New South Wales, is an Australian rugby league and rugby union player.
Smith is a former player of Harlequins RL in the European Super League.
Tyrone Smith's position of choice is as a left centre. He can also operate on the wing.
Smith is a Tongan international.
Tyrone Smith was formerly on the books of the NRL side Sydney Roosters.
Tyrone is the younger brother of Australian Wallaby flanker George Smith, Tyrone himself played his early rugby in the Union code, touring the UK in 2002 with the Australian Schoolboys. Now hailed by some as the 'inside cenre the wallabies have been looking for', we shall see if his raw pace and near faultless ball carrying in the 2008 super 14 can be transferred to the international stage.
Smith has agreed a two year deal with the CA Brumbies in the Super 14 rugby union competition. [1]
Tyrone will take his place with brother George in the Brumbies line-up, marking an astonishing transition between the two codes.[2][3]
