[edit] Time to talk deletion again?
This article went through an AFD for non-notability back in November 2006 - the nominator withdrew it, so there was no consensus reached. The nominator stated that he would renominate if it was determined that Prothro would not be returning to football. that editor is now banned, so presumably won't be making that nomination, but it is time to think about it. If we assume that his playing career is over, are his acheivements to date sufficient to make him notable? -- Pawl 17:51, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- I personally think it is enough to warrant keeping the article. He won an ESPY Award and was a starting skill position player for a Top25 team. So it seems he certainly meets the criteria having "received significant recognized awards or honors" and was an athlete "at the highest level in mainly amateur sports...including college sports in the United States" (from WP:BIO). There are many, many former college players (who did not play pro or who washed out of the league) that still have articles so not sure why this one keeps being brought up for deletion (btw the nominator withdrew because the consensus was keep - I dont remember anyone else agreeing to delete). Honestly, his injury itself is possibly notable enough for inclusion as it was a national news story - even 2 years later when saban booted him off athletic scholarship. Just my opinion. --otduff t/c 20:50, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Personaly, I agree with you - and it seemed clear to me that the editor in question had an axe to grind for some reason - but I felt that I should bring it up. Glad to see no one disagreed. (I think that there were one or two other votes for delete at the time.) -- Pawl 03:04, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Please do not re-add link to video

Yes, we all are in awe of that catch - but you do not own the rights to the video, and neither does YouTube. Thanks! -- Pawl 03:01, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Thecatch.JPG
Image:Thecatch.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
