Type 99 (camouflage)

Type 99 is a camouflage pattern used by People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China.
The main variant is a four-color woodland pattern with olive, green, yellowish-green and black. Type 99 has been criticized for its use of black, but once faded, it becomes dull and subdued, and therefore virtually unnoticeable.
Type 99 camouflage is used by PLA and developed many variants. For example, there is Type 87, Type 95, Type 03, so on and so forth.
Type 99 camouflage copies the style of American Woodland camouflage, consisting of green, brown, black, and a lighter colour printed in interlocking, elongated branching blobs. Type 99 uses a yellowish-green colour in place of the US pattern's khaki for the 4th, lighter colour. As of right now, Type 99 remains the standard utility or field uniform of the PLA. currently, the Type 87 Combat & Training Uniform is being replaced by the new Type 07 Combat & Training Uniform.
