Greetings. Your recent edit of Will McBride (candidate) removed valid and informative external links without explanation. Please be careful not to remove valid information from any article without explaining the reason for this removal on the article's talk page, or at least in an edit summary. Cheers! bd2412 T 19:44, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Bringing balance to the article is most welcome, so long as valid information is not removed in the process. Thank you for your recent contributions to this end. Cheers again! bd2412 T 00:18, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] MedCab Request

Hello, I'm CQJ from the Mediation Cabal. I've accepted your case and am now reviewing the material in dispute, and I should be back to you in a day or so in regards to the situation. In the meantime, please try and make sure that you're following WP:CIVIL and WP:AGF in any editing that you may be doing in the disputed article, although I think it's for the best that you hold off editing anything in dispute until I can get back with you. Cheers, CQJ 04:13, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Please be aware that there is a current AfD on this article and that it runs the risk of being deleted. I recommend you go over to the AfD page and take a look at the comments that other editors are placing there. CQJ 18:24, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

I'm a little confused at what you're trying to attain with this article. Might you provide an explanation so I can help you out? CQJ 15:28, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

I'm confused as to how I'm to talk to the MedCab rep. Anyways, I would like to see this article be deleted, or simply lock it. It is being barraged with false info. The original article was a copy & paste of an ad. from his campaign site. I have attempted to make changes to make it more balanced, yet every time I do, apparently one of his staff members (perhaps supporters, but I'm betting staff!) continues to change it so that it portrays a *partial* view of who the candidate is.

He is a mere candidate in a primary. I think that if, and ONLY if, he wins the primary, should there exist an encyclopedia article about this person who has NO previous political experience and has only been out of law school for a couple years. Why not post encyclopedia articles about Average Joe and Sally on the street?? I see no real difference.

This is an outrage.

I don't mean to impugn your motives, but you did not sign up here until July 24,[1] and every one of your twenty or so edits in that time has involved this Will McBride - whom you refer to by his first name (e.g. "Will is an immigration attorney", "Will was raised a strict, conservative fundamental Baptist",[2] "Will also attended Pensacola Christian College"[3] leaving the impression that you know him personally. Do you? bd2412 T 00:32, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
All you have to do is click the link next to the time stamp, then click the little tab at the top of the page that says talk. That will direct you to my talk page where you may comment to me as we are commenting to you. I think part of the issue here is that, by your admission, the article was "a copy and paste of an ad", which would explain why it sounded exactly like that. I think all that BD was trying to do was to wikify it, that is to say, give it links so it works properly within Wikipedia, and make sure it was written in an encyclopedic tone. More comments... ->

That is an odd question. He's not Senator McBride, or President McBride...shall I refer to him as "Attorney McBride"? What would you suggest. Yes, it's true that I only recently signed on, but I am VERY familiar with Wikipedia and visit it only a daily basis--and have done so for at least a couple years. In fact, it is my primary initial reference data base.

Should we go to President Clinton's page and remove all linkages to Monica Lewinsky? What about Cheney...shall we remove his former role with Enron (sp?) because it might cast a bad light on him? How, for the life of me, we can let one potential primary candidate (1) even get an encyclopedia article, and (2) get one which casts only a partial, fake, awesome light upon him is well beyond me. It strikes me as odd that when I type in the fact that he is an "immigration attorney" that within hours, it is reversed with some other odd fact, or a major downplay upon his role.

Remember, that as you have edited this page, so can anyone with an Internet connection and a web browser...check out WP:OWN for more details....

Investigate my changes...see if *anything* I've said is false. If it is false, then delete it, otherwise it should remain--unless behind-the-scenes people have penetrated Wikipedia with political ties and money contributions....

I have nothing against the inclusion of verifiable facts. The only edit of yours that I've flat-out reverted was this one, in which you removed without explanation virtually the entire article, including verifiable biographical information, and external links that I had added to properly source the article. My other edits have been aimed at making the article encyclopedic in tone (for example, referring to the subject as "McBride" rather than "Will"), and reducing efforts by Pcaruso and 65.15.131.249 (obviously also really Pcaruso) to engage in the kind of whitewashing of which you complain.
Please note that I similarly admonished Pcaruso on his talk page for his biased edits in favor of the candidate, and got threats and insults for my trouble, for which I blocked him from editing. I believe my actions show no bias either for or against the subject, but rather in favor of an article that reports all factual information on this individual in a neutral tone, without being either a puff piece or a hatchet job. Cheers! bd2412 T 02:11, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

I have also done "real" editorial work on it as well, e.g. two time Golden Glove winner vs. "two-time Golden Glove winner." This is just proper grammar and punctuation, as well as "him and his wife" vs. "he and his wife" which is proper English.

Thanks.

Much appreciated. By the way, if you add four tildes at the end of your posts here (~~~~), it will translate into your date-stamped signature. Cheers! bd2412 T 03:52, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Pretty much, once you click the 'Save Page' key below, hm....let's see here....Content must not violate any copyright and must be verifiable. You agree to license your contributions under the GFDL. I think all that was happening here is BD was trying to get things straightened up so the article would not end up on Articles for Deletion (AfD), nothing more. I think this comes down to a misunderstanding, so....I'm going to leave a standard welcome template with some links for you to check out, and if you have any questions, please feel free to come give me a shout either on my talk page or on IRC at irc.freenode.net in #wikipedia.
Actually, there was at least one other party involved who was trying to use the article as a campaign ad... they have been dealt with appropriately. bd2412 T 23:42, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Seeing as there's been no change to your talk page, the disputed candidate page, or the case page in a few days, is there further need for assistance in this case? If so, please let me know within the next 24 hours, otherwise I'll be closing the case as inactive and moving on to the next dispute. Cheers! CQJ 17:50, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Please stop blanking the article. Whatever feelings you have about the subject are obviously getting in your way of constructively editting it. Instead of blanking it, just edit it. Ryūlóng 07:18, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

Hey, you know what? I have contributed almost ALL of this article, and every time I make an addition, this "PCcaurso" guy (who was banned!) comes back and deletes *anything* that looks slightly anit-McBride. I don't see the same preferences given to Bill Clinton--or anyone for that matter!

Is McBride paying you? How much?? I think someone further up the hierarchy needs to know about your comportment!

[edit] Blanking

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Will McBride (candidate). Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia! --tomf688 (talk - email) 11:43, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] R. K. Johnson

Please do not blank pages as you did with R. K. Johnson. If you think he's non-notable, you can begin the AfD process.--John Foxe 14:35, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
