Tyler Hamilton (reporter)

Tyler Jay Hamilton (born June 6, 1970, in Mississauga, Ontario) is an author, Canadian blogger, and energy reporter/business columnist with the Toronto Star, Canada's largest daily-circulation newspaper. He writes a weekly column called Clean Break that focuses on trends and developments in the clean technology and renewable energy markets. Clean Break is also the name of his personal blog, which serves as an extension to the column.
He joined the Toronto Star in July 2000 as its senior technology and telecommunications reporter. Prior to that, he spent two years as technology reporter at Canada's national newspaper, the Globe and Mail.
He has an Honours BA in political science and legal philosophy from the University of Toronto (1989-94), and a Masters of Journalism from Carleton University (1994-96).
In 2002 he co-authored a business book on consumer privacy call The Privacy Payoff. His co-author was Ann Cavoukian, Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
