[edit] Musical Career

Tyler Burkum was hired by Audio Adrenaline as the lead guitarist in 1997 at only 17 years old. Tyler was working as a dishwasher and auditioned for Audio Adrenaline after a family friend recommended him to the band. Tyler had not even heard of the band before, but soon joined Audio Adrenaline on their summer tour. With his new sound added to the band, they released the extremely successful Some Kind of Zombie. Two years later, they released Underdog, which became one of their biggest hits. Burkum took on more and more roles within the band, including singing and songwriting. Throughout his time with Audio Adrenaline, Tyler also found time to write, record and tour with several other bands.

Since 2006, Burkum has been playing guitar for Mat Kearney from Columbia Records, as well as the band Wild Sweet Orange (Canvasback) and opening for artists such as John Mayer and Sheryl Crow.

Burkum has also recently been active in solo work. In the fall of 2006, he released a self-titled demo album and a full length record on May 27, 2008. You can currently find both his CDs on his website, http://www.tylerburkum.net. Three of his songs also appeared on the Mono Vs. Stereo compilation, My Other Band, Vol. 1. The song "End of the Road" was featured on the 2008 season 5 finale of One Tree Hill.
