[edit] Tylium's technical statistics
Where does the all the scientific data for Tylium come from, like it's "specific heat" and "rest mass"? I have never heard any of this discussed in either the original series or the remake and since such a material doesn't exist where did the info come from? Cyberia23 06:07, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Please really check the referred source carefully before asserting something is not sourced. As referred correctly in the article, it comes from episode 1x10. Dr. Baltar clearly states in a dialogue (about 11 minutes and 40 seconds into the episode) that "refined Tylium containes tremendous entropy, to order of half a billion megajoules per kilo." — Ylai 09:45, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

- Episode "1x10"? What episode is that? Are we even watching the SAME show? It doesn't appear on either List of Battlestar Galactica (1978-1980) episodes or List of Battlestar Galactica (Re-imagined series) episodes. First off all the template asked for was a REFERENCE which you still haven't provided, so the template shall be returned. Cyberia23 21:47, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- It's been so long since I last watched the episode but I'm sure Baltar rambled on about some physics relating to Tylium in The Hand of God (RDM) - I'll see about confirming this tonight if possible. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 22:01, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Baltars physics
Thrace: A nuke would destroy the Cylons..
Baltar: But the radiation would render the Ore inert, unusable (and some random Latin word here I think that I didn't understand..). Well your in luck you know refined Tylium contains tremendous entropy to the order of 1/2 a billion megajoules per kilo if subjected to the right heat of compression say from a conventional warhead you should get a suitably devastating explosion without the radioactive fallout.
Tigh: All we have to do is hit the right spot.
Baltar: Specifically you need to hit the station tanks for the refined Tylium pre-cursor, *Baltar smirks* It's a lot more unstable then the fuel its self.
- That's the dialogue from The Hand of God. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 23:13, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Dirty Hands
In "Dirty Hands" we got a good luck at Tylium liquefied. Also the sand is refined Tylium isn't? I've got screen captures of both if anyone wants them in the article. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 15:53, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- That would be cool :) I laughed when I saw the pile of Tylium and was like "Wow! Beach sand! We got lots of that on Earth - lets go to the stars!" Cyberia23 21:56, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- I was confused for a second tbh :-D! One day I'll av me own Battlestar, you watch ;-)! thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 21:57, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
