Talk:Tyler Smith (theater)

More links related to "importance" (relative term, methinks) coming soon. Hold your horses. Rmitche2 16:13, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's not importance, it's notability. Someone (such as a newspaper, or scholarly journal) would have to have featured an article by him in his field of study. Another way to assert notability would be documentation of him winning some prestigious award in his field. Please refer to wp:notability for notability guidelines. - Wikipedia:Notability (academics) may help you more. I have failed to find anything on google, but smith is a common name which can make it harder. I have also not found anything on google scholar - which concerns me since it implies that he has written anything academic. Jon513 16:24, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
I studied a few papers by Mr. Smith in my intro to theatre class at purdue. Theatre 102 I believe. The professor was pretty enamored with him. I will contact professor to see if she can forward links.
I also tried google scholar and there were too many articles by a Tyler Smith Genetic Physicist to find anything about Tyler Smith Theatre historian. witherbj
- I would be interested to find out exactly how many of these things are the specific Tyler Smith we're referring. It's not exactly an uncommon name. PumeleonT 20:50, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
I am a huge fan of horror films and I actually have Tyler Smith's autograph on a poster for Greek Maggot Bingo. I had no idea that he was also the effects designer of Scared Stiff. He has been extremely popular in the horror underground; it is unfortunate that he had quit working on films for a while due to "personal" reasons. And is extremely disappointing that he may have a new association with Mel Gibson. It's sad when a talented artist sells out. But why do you not consider him relevant. That's outrageous! I think it's intolerable how you people will discriminate against a brilliant artist just because he isn't a Brittney Spears or a Sean Penn. I hate how things are censored. How are people supposed to learn about him if you just keep removing all the information about him? He is fantastic and deserves some recognition. Its fools like you that lead him to his "problems". Shame on you for trying to hold down a tribute to a genius.
