Tye North

Tye North was born in Portland, Oregon. Tye began playing the drums when he was 14, but he didnt pick up the bass until he was sixteen. Years after Tye began playing he began turning into a phenomenal Zydeco musician. Tye North began playing bass with Leftover Salmon in 1993, he continued playing with them until September 2000.

Tye recorded three records with Leftover Salmon. Bela Fleck, Waylon Jennings, Earl Scruggs, and Lucinda Williams were all included on "The Nashville Sessions" their third album. Tye has performed with Victor Wooten, Paul Mccandless, Mike Kang, Sam Bush, Karl Denson, Robert Walter, and Jessica Lurie. Also Tye has worked in collaboration putting on workshops with Darol Anger, Taj Mahal, Future Man, Wally Ingram, Jeff Coffin, and Bruce Hampton among others.

Tye is currently in the group "The Theory Of Everything" or known as "TOE". The Theory Of Everything features Dave Watts, Ross Martin, Jans Ingber, Mike Kang, Kyle Hollingsworth, Robert Walter, and Jessica Lurie. The group has plays shows in Boulder, New Orleans and have been voted one of the top five best live shows of 2002 by Jambands.com. “TOE” promises new material every show. Occationaly, Tye will play with Danny Barnes, in Danny's group The Old Codgers.
