[edit] ICT @ Twynham

Twynham has 8 computer rooms, most of which have recent Windows PCs, apart from one room which has iMacs. Because of all of the computer equipment, students quite often use computers for projects, etc.

The school offers 3 different courses to take at GCSE level. These are:

  • Computer Technology
  • iPro Software Development
  • ECDL

In addition, every classroom that is in the school is being updated to have projectors. Teachers use the projectors to show presentations, videos, etc.

[edit] Science facilities

Twynham School has 11 science labs where science lessons take place. All science labs are equipped with sinks, gas taps, and science equipment (such as bunsen burners).

[edit] Sports facilities

The school has its own playing fields, tennis courts, and gym. Students in years 7-9 have 2 lessons a week of PE. And at years 10-11 they have to have 1 lesson a week, unless they take the GCSE PE course. A new sports hall facility is hoped to be built in the near future. The plans went ahead until, unfortunately, Dorset County Council changed their minds and decided not to fund the facility. At the moment the issue is being discussed.
