[edit] Wiltshire

Please cite your source that Twyford, Berkshire was part of Wiltshire pre-1844. Are you thinking of Twyford, Hampshire, which is much closer to Wiltshire? Ian Cairns 16:45, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

No, this is Twyford in Berkshire. Several areas of Berkshire (parts of Hurst, Wokingham, Shinfield & Swallowfield) were officially in Wiltshire before 1844, even though they were nowhere near it. This is to do with their ownership by the Earls of Salisbury. I have added a reference. Verica Atrebatum 09:49, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
