Tim Pierce is a Boston-area software engineer and recovering Usenetter.

In a former life I was moderately well known for kibitzing on Usenet software [1], being a cranky contrarian [2] and reading bad pornography [3].

I am still not, when last I checked, an L.A. session guitarist or a basketball player for the Arizona State Sun Devils.

To date I am still unimpressed with the Arctic Monkeys.

Most of my contributions to Wikipedia have been scattered minor edits: copyediting, wikifying, fact-checking, etc. Some larger contributions include:

• I negotiated a substantial rewrite of the Jewish Defense League article during a December 2005 revert war that both parties accepted.
• PhotoCatBot, a bot that categorizes generic photo requests and promotes easier navigation of Category:Wikipedia requested photographs and subcategories.
• Recently I've become enthusiastic about contributing photographs to Wikipedia, mostly by scouring articles under Category:Wikipedia requested photographs for practical contributions I can make. Articles I have contributed images to include:
