[edit] Plot

Kate attempts to revive Michael in the jungle. Jack considers looking out for The Others, but Kate dissuades him, stating that Michael was walking alone.

In a flashback, Ana Lucia's mother asks her for an alibi for the night of Jason McCormick's murder. After taking her daughter to the morgue, Ana's mother accuses her for the killing. Ana refuses to accept her mother's advice or assistance, resigning on the spot.

Ana talks to Henry, commenting on his recent reticence and "hunger-strike." Henry mumbles, and Ana leans in to tell him to speak up. Henry promptly attacks Ana, showing considerable strength and agility. He accuses the survivors of killing two of his comrades, The Others, and calls her "the real killer." Henry begins to strangle Ana, but before he can fully asphyxiate her, Locke arrives and knocks him unconscious.

Ana Lucia is seen working a tedious shift as an airport security officer. She meets Christian at the airport bar, who reveals how he lost his license just recently. She, with a touch of irony, commiserates on the impracticality of parents working with their children. On a whim, Christian invites her to accompany him to Sydney. He cites fate as a reason for her to accompany him, and then, perhaps facetiously offers her a job as a bodyguard. They give each other pseudonyms under which to operate and embark.

On the beach, Libby asks Ana about her bruises and abrasions on her face and neck. Ana implies that Henry will be punished for his actions, but Libby warns her against impetuous decisions.

Locke enters the armory, where Henry is tied up in the dark. Locke asks Henry why he tried to hurt Ana, as he sees this as inconsistent with Henry's saving him. Henry responds, "Because you're one of the good ones, John." John presses for an explanation, but Henry begins to lament his impending doom, expressing doubt that Jack will succeed in finding The Others, Michael, or Walt. Henry says that either Jack will kill him upon an empty-handed return, or he will be killed by a leader of The Others, who he calls a great yet an unforgiving man. Henry explains that he will be killed for his failing of his mission, which was to come to the survivors' camp for Locke. Kate and Jack arrive with Michael in the hatch, calling for Locke's assistance.

Outside, Ana asks Sawyer for a gun. Their conversation becomes heated when she suggests Jack was making time with his "girlfriend."

In a hotel room late at night, Christian bangs on Ana's door, telling her it's time for her to protect him. Ana drives Christian to the suburbs, unaware of his plan. He begins to knock on the door of a house, demanding his right to see his daughter. Things escalate as the woman refuses him entry, and Ana races out to pull Christian away from the threshold.

Hurley asks Sayid if he can use the radio to play music for Libby. Hurley references an iconic scene in Cameron Crowe's Say Anything, revealing to Sayid that he hopes to earn Libby's affection. Sayid suggests that Hurley take her to a secluded spot on the beach, where he once took Shannon.

In the hatch, Locke wonders aloud whether the Others let Michael go in the expectation of receiving Henry. Jack dismisses this "honor system" as unlikely.

Ana again confronts Sawyer, demanding a gun. She takes a swing at him, but he overpowers her, pinning her down. She kisses him, and they roll over, remove their clothing, and the scene ends.

Ana asks an increasingly deteriorating Christian about the woman whose house he tried to enter. He reveals to her that he cannot apologize to Jack, which indicates his guilt. He leaves her to enter a bar, banging his car door into Sawyer in the process.

Ana threatens Sawyer, warning him against telling the others about their relations. Back on the beach, Hurley invites Libby to a picnic.

In the hatch, Ana and Locke decide against telling Jack about Henry's attack. Michael awakes and tells Ana, Jack, Kate, and Locke that he found The Others. He said he tracked them, and said the first person he saw was dirty and wore no shoes, "like the rest of them." He followed them back to the camp. He says that The Others lived in tents and teepees, eating dried fish. He says that he didn't see any of the other survivors, including Walt. He says that he saw a set of metal doors leading underground, guarded by two people at all times with guns. Michael says The Others are worse off than the survivors, but he says he was unable to save his son. He says, however, that the survivors could overpower The Others, and that after regaining his strength, they'd go on a second rescue mission.

Locke and Jack begin to plan the mission. They take Kate to try to negotiate with Sawyer to get the guns.

Libby and Hurley get lost in the jungle, and wind up walking out onto the same beach on which they live. However, Libby suggests having the picnic right then and there. Hurley then reveals that he forgot drinks and blankets. Libby departs to handle the blankets, and Hurley goes to talk to Rose and Bernard about getting wine.

Jack, Kate, and Locke aggressively demand the guns. Jack pulls his gun on Sawyer, and Sawyer, reaching for his own, realizes Ana stole it. Locke realizes Ana may be planning to harm Henry.

In the hatch, Ana, left alone with Henry and Michael, slides Henry a knife and tells him to cut himself loose.

Henry reveals that Goodwin had thoughts that Ana could be changed, and had positive thoughts about her. Ana dismisses this, saying that Goodwin had murderous intentions. Ana pulls out her gun, aims, and cocks the trigger.

In the airport, Jack is requesting that his father's coffin be placed on the plane. Ana waits on the line, pulls out her cell phone and calls her mother. Ana cries, saying she made a mistake and tried to get away from her because she knew of the mistake, and now wants to come home.

In the hatch, Michael asks Ana where everyone went. Ana tells him, and also tells him that she can't use the gun. Michael is confused as to why one of The Others was receiving hospitality, but Ana reveals he was not being treated with much caring. Ana becomes tearful, saying that she "can't do this anymore." Michael says, "Then let me do it," calling The Others "animals." Ana gives him the gun and the combination to the armory.

He takes the gun, holds it, and shoots Ana. Libby walks in and sees the aftermath. Startled, Michael whirls and shoots her twice. He then proceeds to open the door of the armory, and shoots himself in the shoulder.
