Two Paddocks

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Two Paddocks is a vineyard based in Central Otago, New Zealand.

A small family wine-producing business, Two Paddocks was established by actor and director, Sam Neill in 1993 with a planting of five acres of Pinot Noir on a small vineyard at Gibbston, Central Otago. The original vineyard has been augmented by two other small vineyards in the Alexandra district. Alex Paddocks is a 7-acre vineyard on a terrace above the Earnscleugh Valley under some striking rocky headlands. It was planted with Burgundian Pinot vines (5, 6, 115) in 1998, and "The Last Chance" Pinot Noir is from this single vineyard (first vintage 2002). In 2000 the company acquired Redbank, a sheltered sixty acres also in the Earnscleugh Valley, which nestles between two dramatic rocky escarpments. It is planted with more Burgundian clones (777, 667, and 115) and some Riesling.

The company also grows medicinal and culinary herbs.
