"Two Fathers" was the eleventh episode of the sixth season of The X-Files science-fiction television series created by Chris Carter, and the first of a To Be Continued two-parter continued in One Son.

The Cigarette Smoking Man recounts the dealings of the Syndicate over the last fifty to years to an unknown listener, all the while attempting to sway this stranger to aide him. Meanwhile, Cassandra Spender has reappeared and is instantly hunted down by scientists who seek to destroy her and the knowledge she possesses. She escapes from the hospital where she is kept and demands that Mulder shoot her, because she is the embodiment of fifty years of work by the Syndicate -- an alien/human hybrid that will trigger colonization if the aliens find out of her existence.
