"Two Headed Boy Pt. Two" is the final song on the 1998 Neutral Milk Hotel album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. The final verse of the song has a similar progression to the earlier song, "Two-Headed Boy".
A slightly alternate version of the song was performed by Jeff Mangum at Jittery Joe's on March 7, 1997. It contains the altered lyric "Rings of flowers 'round your eyes and I love you/Nineteen-forty-and-five is..." rather than "Rings of flowers 'round your eyes and I love you/For the rest of your life when you're..." The mention of the year 1945 in this instance is likely a reference to the life and death of Anne Frank and the end of World War II in 1945. The lines in both versions of the song end with drawn-out cry that is usually accepted not to be a word, though some have interpreted it as "really" or "ready". The alternate, live performance can be found on the album Live at Jittery Joe's. Jesse Lacey of Brand New has been known to cover this song at live performances, as well as "Holland, 1945" and (most often) "Oh Comely". Lacey has stated in an interview with WFNX that he believes In the Aeroplane Over the Sea to be "the most beautiful record ever written."
