Hi Twister3328, welcome to Wikipedia.

Thank you for your contribution to Albany High School but unfortunately wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted materials. If you want that information to be included, please re-write it in your own words. I don't want to sound unfriendly, but you might get the article deleted, and I don't want that. Hi - with respect to the VfD on Albany High School - you asked " If there are any revisions or edits to this page that I could make to make a worse candidate for deletion, please let me know". Apart from reviewing that you have not made any copyright violations, you may wish to consider the criteria on the page WP:BEEFSTEW as a guide to what makes a good article about a school. Regards--AYArktos 02:13, 10 May 2005 (UTC)

Twister3328 - I understand that you have put a great deal of work into this page and don't want to see it go to waste. Your first revision really addresses my main concern with the site - with the contact info and "Become a supporter" business it really seemed to not be in keeping with the rest of Wikipedia. The "Comments and Revisions" section is outside the styleguide as well - if someone looking at the article wants to add to the article, they can easily do so. If they want to contact you about your contribution to the page, they can easily view the history or talk pages to see this. AYArktos's link above is a good set of guidelines for how to construct a school article - as a general rule, I might suggest that if it is something you could say about most (or even many) high schools, it may not belong in an article about one specific school. I do agree that my posting the page to Votes for Deletion was probably premature, and I should have contacted you directly first. The WP is a process of constant evolution. [edit] Thank You!

I thought I was the only person who cared about Albany_High_School, Georgia, but I guess I was wrong. Thank you for restoring it. I am very greatful! Twister3328

  • Your welcome, but it isn't just Albany_High_School, Georgia that I care for; I believe that every educational institution on the globe should be well documented here on Wikipedia. If you share this sentiment then please consider joining the Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools for a proposed section structure, as well as the Schoolwatch Programme for a list of schools in need of attention (some of which have been nominated for deletion). Please keep in touch. Bahn Mi 20:44, 11 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Images on Albany High School, Georgia

The two phographs on this page have no source information, and another editor has tagged them as such. By way of a new speedy delete criterion, they may be removed automatically any day now unless you properly show that each of them is fair use. The top photo looks like it may be a personal photo, which you can of course release into the public domain. However, the photo of the principal clearly has the watermark of a professional photographer, and I imagine the photographer (who would hold the copyright in this instance) has not given permission for such a use. Just wanted to give you a heads-up that these photos need to be clarified and perhaps replaced. ESkog 05:18, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Hi, Twister, could you take some photos to illustrate the articles on subjects related to Albany and Dougherty County and upload them since you seem to be there? THB 05:40, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Wow! You've really put some effort into taking some good photos and getting them into the articles. Thank you! THB 18:07, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Ahsindian.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ahsindian.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Nomeds.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Nomeds.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:08, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My Name Is Earl

Hello, Scott! Since I saw you like My Name Is Earl, I would like to give you a little episode I wrote for you:

(intro)

Randy: Hey Earl, look at this website I found called Wikipedia; you can edit it!

Earl: Cool.

Randy: I will edit it right now!

Earl: OK

(Randy clicks edit this page)

Randy: Blocked?

Earl: Then I remembered, #270 on my list: Vandalised Wikipedia.

Earl: All right, I was vandalising this website and I'm going to cross it off my list

Randy: OK

Earl: To bad I couldn't leave a request for an unblock on the admin who blocked me's talk page, but then I discovered the "Email this user" tool so I did that.

Earls message Dear, Yonny (admin who blocked him) I would like you to unblock me please. I promise I will make reasonable edits

Earl: So Yonny unblocked me and Randy and I could both edit Wikipedia.

The End

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:WALB.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:WALB.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:52, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
